In Mark 11 : 17 Jesus said : « My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations. »
In this declaration, there are two big pillars that caracterize our church :
- To be a house of prayer. We are a community of believers who get together regularly to celebrate, to praise and to worship the one who transformed our lives, Jesus-Christ, but also to pray and intercede for our city, our governors, our country and other nations of the world, so that peace would reign around us.
- To be opened to the nations. Our church is multicultural and has representatives of 4 out of the 5 continents in the world. This diversity is a precious richness which is reflected in our different services which are full of joy and life.
As to our faith, the House of Prayer for the Nations recognizes the Bible, the inspired Word of God, as its unique base of authority. (See confession of faith)
All our services are public and free. Our deepest desire is to know Jesus-Christ more and more, and to make Him known around us, for He is alive and keeps on doing great things in the lives of those who seek Him.
Young and old, whether you are just passing through or whether you live in this region, we’ll be happy to receive you in the House of Prayer for the Nations in Strasbourg.
And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Luk 24:46-47
